JUNE 9, 12, & 13
We are a praying church. Let's come together in prayer regarding pastoral transition preparations that will occur over the next year as well as for God’s direction for our church. (Please note that Pastor Wayne Kent will retire in the summer of 2022, and Pastor Brian Talty will take on the role as lead pastor.) The Elders of our church are hosting five identical prayer opportunities:
- Wednesday, June 9 at 6am, noon, and 5pm
- Saturday, June 12 at 4:30pm
- Sunday, June 13 at 5pm

Leviticus Reading Plan
Leviticus - yep that’s the Old Testament book you usually skip over when reading the Bible. It is full of smoke and fire and blood — very messy indeed. However, there’s a life code described between the written lines, a life code of order and worship. Learn how to read, study, and experience Leviticus, a ancient book for contemporary spirituality.
First Steps
WEEKEND OF JUNE 12/13
Are you new(-ish) to First Christian Church and want to know how you can grow and serve? Then First Steps is the perfect thing for you! Make a connection with staff and others like you as well as explore the mission of our church and how you can get involved. This is a brief 20-minute gathering.
- IN PERSON: Following each worship service so Saturday, June 12 at 6:15pm or Sunday, June 13 at 10:15am and 11:45am (meet at the Welcome Center, no registration necessary)

Serve on our tech team!
Imagine a worship service with no lights, screens, or speakers. That equates to a pastor with a sore throat from shouting loud enough so everyone can hear, it being too dark to read your Bible, and families unable to participate on church online. Yikes! That's where our Production Team comes into play, and you can be a part of this super awesome team. Don't be intimidated by all the buttons and knobs on the video cameras and light consoles. Bike Days
TUESDAYS & SATURDAYS IN JUNE 2021
Got wheels? Bring 'em and have some fun riding around the church parking lot together Tuesday mornings and Saturday evenings in June. Bikes, trikes, skateboards, roller blades - whatever! Oh, and bring a water bottle, too. If you prefer to watch the riders and just hang out and visit, bring your lawn chair. Invite friends and family to join you! Questions? Arts Academy Summer Classes

We are excited to offer Arts Academy classes this summer. Classes are FREE, but space is limited. Here are our class offerings:
- Arts Exploration, 5-7 years old, 10-11am
- Dance, 5-9 years old, 10-11am
- Art Journaling, 8-10 years old, 10-11am
- Beginner Sewing, 10-18 years old, 10am-noon
- Culinary Arts, 11-18 years old, 10am-noon

Youth Mission Trip
JUNE 22-24, 2021
Sixth-12th grade students are invited to participate in our mission trip to . . . (drum roll, please) the Decatur area! During this three-day mission trip, teens will serve different agencies in our community each morning, have fun in the afternoons, and wrap up each day with a worship service.
Ministry Scholarships
We are pleased to provide annual scholarships to any students who are a part of our congregation interested in pursuing a ministry major in college or seminary. Ministry majors might include pastoral work, worship, counseling, youth, and education. The possibilities are many. Employment Opportunity
We are currently seeking a part-time Weekend Support staff person. Our weekend support staff help make our worship services a success by fulfilling essential behind-the-scenes tasks such as prepping the building, communion, attendance, and more.
